Launching a scalable platform for Betsson Cameroon and beyond
As Betsson prepared to launch in Cameroon, the objective was clear: to apply the learnings from previous market experience and build a focused, scalable operating model for a high-potential, mobile-first market.
To achieve this, Betsson needed more than a standard technology platform. It required scalable turnkey sportsbook and casino technology, a localised product proposition, and a bespoke mobile-first front-end designed around how customers in Cameroon typically register, deposit, engage with betting and gaming products, and interact with a digital entertainment brand.

Following a rigorous RFP process, Betsson selected EveryMatrix as the technology partner to support the launch.
“We knew we had to invest a lot in our brand. Being an international brand does not automatically guarantee awareness or trust in a new market. You need to build relevance locally and make sure the product experience reflects customer expectations from day one.”

The project also marked an important milestone for EveryMatrix as we developed and delivered a bespoke mobile front-end built from the ground up by front-end specialist Goma Gaming, a company we acquired in 2025.
From agreement to launch
The partnership moved from agreement to delivery at pace. Betsson.cm soft launched in February 2026, allowing both teams time to fine tune the product, validate player journeys, test operational processes and evaluate early customer behaviour.
The full public launch followed in April 2026, supported by a marketing campaign ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

The first phase was used to strengthen the product before scaling activity. This included testing deposits and withdrawals, refining the front-end experience, and completing QA launch-readiness work across sportsbook, casino, payments, PAM, and third-party integrations.
A focused strategy for a complex market
Betsson’s previous experience in selected African markets highlighted both the continent’s potential and the complexity of operating there, prompting it to rethink its approach around a more focused, scalable model.
Cameroon was selected as the launch market for this new model. Rather than simply adapting an existing product, Betsson and EveryMatrix worked together to develop an experience shaped around local player behaviours in a market where betting is overwhelmingly mobile-first, and performance, speed, simplicity, and familiarity are crucial.
Customers needed to be able to register, deposit, place bets, access promotions, play casino games and withdraw winnings with minimal friction, including in environments where internet connectivity can vary. And EveryMatrix delivered.
Why EveryMatrix?
Betsson ran a structured and detailed RFP process, assessing multiple platform providers against more than 600 requirements across sportsbook, casino, payments, front-end, SEO, back-office functionality, launch support and operational resilience.
“It was a very structured and demanding process. EveryMatrix showed strong commitment throughout, handled the tender professionally, and demonstrated the depth of its organisation across the different areas we needed to assess.”

For Betsson, selecting an external platform partner for Cameroon was a strategic decision. EveryMatrix provided the full technology and operational foundation needed to launch in the market, while also supporting a model that can be adapted for future opportunities in markets with similar product, language, payment and customer experience requirements.
“The EveryMatrix team worked extremely hard on this project. Multiple specialist teams were involved, which gave us confidence that we were working with an organisation with real depth.
“Account Management supported the communication very well, Project Management helped bring the workstreams together, and the Goma team was patient, responsive and committed to delivering the front-end experience we needed.
“As with any complex launch, challenges came up along the way, but we were able to sit down, work through them and find practical solutions.”

Built from the ground up for mobile-first local players
EveryMatrix delivered a localised sportsbook and casino experience for Betsson Cameroon, including turnkey platform, sports, casino, payments, PAM support, bonuses and a bespoke front-end created in-house.
The sportsbook setup included API-based delivery and a custom front-end implementation built from the ground up by Goma Gaming, part of the EveryMatrix Group. Mobile web was deployed during the February 2026 soft launch, with native Android and iOS apps forming part of the wider product rollout.
The product was designed to be lightweight, accessible, and mobile-first, with particular attention given to performance in lower-bandwidth environments. Across mobile web, iOS, and Android, customers can move efficiently from registration to deposit, bet placement, casino play, and withdrawal.

The front-end also gives Betsson flexibility to fully manage content, layouts, highlighted events, promotions, and marketing campaigns directly through the CMS, without additional development work.
“Customers are becoming increasingly sophisticated and established local brands often shape very specific betting habits. When entering a new market, you need to understand those behaviours and make sure the product feels intuitive and relevant.
“The smartest approach is to give customers an experience that feels familiar, while introducing the strengths of the Betsson brand and product in a relevant and sustainable way.”

Clear event cards, intuitive navigation, effective filtering, and a seamless betslip experience help customers find competitions, matches, and markets efficiently. Bonusing and engagement features were also adapted for local player expectations, giving Betsson the tools to compete in a market with established regional operators.
Strong foundations & clear next steps
Betsson approached the launch with appropriate caution, using the early phase to test the platform, monitor customer behaviour and validate the operating model before increasing marketing investment.
The fundamentals are now in place. Customers are registering, depositing, playing, and withdrawing successfully. The platform is stable, the product is live, and the business is building a healthy active customer base in one of Africa’s more complex and competitive markets.
Early results have also highlighted the value of offering a broad entertainment proposition.
Sportsbook remains an important acquisition driver, while casino is showing encouraging levels of engagement and provides an opportunity to strengthen retention and customer value over time.
As of June 2026, early performance indicators have been encouraging, with positive trends across customer acquisition, retention and revenue development since launch.
“We discovered a broader opportunity than initially expected. Sportsbook remains central to the customer proposition, but casino is also showing strong potential, particularly as customers become more familiar with the full entertainment offering.
“Over time, we believe Cameroon and selected similar markets may follow a more developed market trajectory, with casino becoming a more meaningful part of the overall product mix alongside sportsbook.”

A platform with scalable potential
Cameroon provides an important proof point for Betsson’s focused approach in selected African markets. The project has created a localised, mobile-first and scalable platform that may support future opportunities where there are similar language, currency, payment and customer behaviour dynamics, subject to local regulatory, commercial and operational considerations.
With EveryMatrix, Betsson has established a technology foundation that combines platform stability, local flexibility and operational support.
For Betsson, the project has shown that a successful launch in a demanding market requires more than technology alone. It requires a locally relevant product, a strong brand proposition, effective customer engagement, reliable operations and a committed partner with the ability to support complex delivery.
For EveryMatrix, the partnership demonstrates the value of a turnkey platform that can be localised, launched and scaled with ambitious operators in complex and high-potential markets.
