Head of Infrastructure

Job Summary

EveryMatrix is a fast-growing B2B software company in the i-gaming space, particularly strong in solutions for casino, payments, sports. We have 400+ staff in 9 offices in Europe and Asia.

We are searching for an analytical and experienced technical operation executive to join our company in the role of Head of Infrastructure part of our Technical Operations team, reporting to group CTO.

The successful hire will manage 4 teams: System Administration, Helpdesk, Networking team, Database Systems Team. Overall 17 persons, the majority located in our Bucharest office, our largest office and workplace for the Head of Infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities

  • Working with a team of highly technically skilled engineers, motivating them, encouraging them to grow and develop their skills, while organizing and prioritizing their work in the most efficient manner.
  • Work in direct contact with the different Business Units of the company enforcing collaboration between them and your team members.
  • Work closely with the group CTO defining the best strategies (technical and organizational) to keep and improve the stability of the platform, while evolving it to make it more productive, scalable and reliable.
  • Defining, installing and maintaining the hardware, network elements and part of the software and services placed on it: OpenStack, Proxmox, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, etc…
  • Manage current and future Data Centers, private and in the cloud (in charge of cloud accounts).
  • Negotiate and interact with vendors and providers, maintaining a good relationship with them.
  • Collaborate with the Incidents Management team in defining the processes and procedures for infrastructure related incidents management and contribute actively in their resolution, Root Cause Analysis and preventive Action Points.
  • Contribute developing a culture of DevOps, automation, high availability, high scalability, collaboration, within your own team and in all interactions with the Business Units and rest of the company colleagues.

 

Requirements

  • Leadership and Management experience: Team building, motivation, organization of team and work, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English, written and spoken.
  • Technical background: Bachelor’s degree in IT related engineering or computer science.
  • Knowledge about methodologies commonly used in IT businesses: Kanban, DevOps, Continuous Delivery.
  • At least knowing what is “The Phoenix Project”, and what is it about.
  • Experience working with hardware: commodity servers, DB servers, network elements, etc.
  • Experience working with Data Center providers, private and cloud: defining infrastructure planning and architecture.
  • Experience working with vendors, negotiating prices and contracts, and keeping a good relationship with them.
  • Knowledge about virtualization and infrastructure software and platforms: VMWare, Proxmox, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, OpenStack, Cloud platforms (Google, Azure, AWS).
